Jake Pentecost is a once-promising Jaeger pilot whose legendary father gave his life to secure humanity’s victory against the monstrous Kaiju. Jake has since abandoned his training only to become caught up in a criminal underworld. But when an even more unstoppable threat is unleashed to tear through cities and bring the world to its knees, Jake is given one last chance by his estranged sister, Mako Mori, to live up to his father’s legacy.
Well lets begin with the way of the characters were interacting; it was good but here was the problem; the way of the script bringing together the characters was a bit weird. I don’t know how to explain it to you but there’s something missing and that was the (wait for it)…..The original Pacific Rim Spirit which made every bloody loving mecha fan to cherish was gone.
Luckily for us (the audience) there was a bit of comedy in the beginning but once the action and the science whiz were combing gathering elements, we were astonished with the results. Yet The visual effects with the audio were awesome, the way of the scuplting and coloring of the Jaegers were a bit off. Like I was watching a mashup of Ready Player One & let’s say Gundam Try Fighters.
The final scene of the movie wasn’t bad but before the ending of the credit when Jake comes through threatening the good Kaiju groupie, we totally understood that there will be a third installment and we wish that the trilogy part would be original as the first part.
This is the Review Studio verdict; signing out.
